The ACC505 course guide is designed to introduce you to a range of resources for doing company and industry research.

1. Choose a publicly traded company (here's a list).

• Take note of its ticker symbol

2. Use Business Source Complete or the Business Market Research Collection to research the industry:

3. Use the following to research your company:

1. The company's website
2. InvestorGuide.com
   • ​​Search for your company's ticker symbol or name to find their stock overview
3. MSN Money website
   • ​​Search for your company's ticker symbol to find their stock quote
4. Yahoo Industry Browser​
   • ​​Select your industry from the column on the left-hand side of the page.
   • Then, at the top left-hand side of the page under the blue box labeled Description, click on the (More Info) link next to the industry name.
   • This will bring you to the Industry Summary page. Industry Statistics are on the right-hand side of the page. 
5. Also, use the following library resources to complete your assignment:

• Search for the company's ticker symbol
• Below "Hoover's Company Records" for your company, click "Full text - PDF"

• Click "Business" box (bottom left)
• Click "Company Dossier" link (your browser must allow pop-ups for this link to work)
• In the "Ticker symbol" field enter the your company's ticker symbol
• Click Search
• Use the navigation on the left to move within the company report
