You have been asked to examine a problem in the world today from the perspective of global or cultural diversity. For example, you might look at a problem that affects the whole world. Or you might examine how people in different cultures or countries are responding to the same problem. For your paper, you will need to identify at least 5 peer-reviewed library sources.
To help get you started with this, use the three search boxes in OneSearch to divide your topic into its main ideas. Put each main idea into its own box along with brainstormed synonyms using OR within the same box.
For example, if your topic is world hunger among children, your search might look something like this:
hunger OR "food insecurity" (1st search box)
AND child* (2nd search box)

Also be sure to check the box next to Peer Reviewed Journals to limit your results to scholarly, peer reviewed articles only. See screenshot below:
If you find that your results are too focused on the United States, and you want to find more articles focusing on other countries around the world, you can exclude the terms "united states" from your search using the NOT operator. To do this with the example above, we would type "united states" into the 3rd search box, then click on the AND button to the left of the box, and select NOT.
This way, we are searching for hunger or "food insecurity" AND child*, but NOT "united states." See screenshot below:
