You will find financial reports filed in their database, EDGAR including 10-K's and 10-Q's.
You may also find financial reports, annual reports, and statements on the company's website. For an example see Spirit Aviation's Financials page.
Start with the database Business Market Research Collection, but invest some time searching each of the business databases in turn.
Look for financial reports related specifically to your company by searching for your company name and financial*. The * tells the database to find financial, and financials, and financially at the same time.
Sample search:
"Spirit airlines" AND financial*
You may find a Hoover report which will be a good source for this assignment.
Here is a peek inside the document. You will find balance sheets, income statements, and market data.
Next, look for some market research in the relevant industry.
Run an advanced search for your industry and the phrase "market analysis" OR "market report."
Use OR to connect synonyms or related terms.
Use quotes around phrases to keep those words glued together in search results.
Here is an example search string:
("airline industry" OR "air transportation industry") AND ("market analysis" OR "market report")
